Booking your Consultation is the first step in your new Kitchen Garden Journey. We decided to offer Garden Maintenance as a way of ensuring your enjoyment in the garden, and 1-on-1 Garden Coaching to help you along the way as you learn and become more confident. I cannot begin to explain the feeling of satisfaction obtained by growing food for your family, it is something I have done for many years and still feel the same as I did the with the very first harvest.
About Tracy
Hello! My name is Tracy LaValley-Hall. I am the owner of Firefly Floral & Design. We (my husband, Rich and I) have been in business as specialty cut flower farmers since 2016. We are situated in central Wayne County and enjoy the well-known Finger Lakes as well as the Great Lake Ontario just to our north.
When I first moved here gardens were cleaned and some created, flowers grown for their sheer beauty, and shared with family and friends. My daughter’s wedding was first, then my own. Each year the gardens grew, and the plant varieties grew with them. The peace of cultivating and working among the plants was enough at first, then came the realization of the effect they have on others. I gave gifts and sold a few roadside, then slowly looked for a market that was a good fit for me. The way people light up and the smiles that I see from those who pass by are my reward, my satisfaction in knowing I am headed down the right path. It is from these meager beginnings that we will soar! A tiny speck it would seem from afar, it however contains seeds of inspiration and hope of a better more colorful tomorrow. It is within this site that we will share our hopes, our dreams, our trials and as much knowledge as possible.

Firefly Floral and Design is a business fostered in a passion. For the color. Textures. Smells, and discoveries of how all of these wonderful things come together in the magical, beautiful world of Cut Flowers, Garden Design and the Kitchen Garden.
Why Personal Touch is so Important
Owner - Tracy LaValley-Hall grew up in a small resort area of upstate New York near Sodus Bay. Her mother, without realizing it, instilled a love for flowers that would later consume her. Her mother’s nursery was well known for the quality of her bedding plants. While helping manage the daily tasks, Tracy learned to create planting and transplanting schedules, and set up displays to encourage consumers to incorporate different varieties together in their plantings.
She then went back to school and obtained a Horticulture degree. It meant working nights at a full-time job while pursuing her education. Her husband, Richard Hall, a supportive component in all of this, pitched in to help while working full-time himself.
Then her dream became THEIR dream. They now live on his family’s 55-acre, former dairy farm in Lyon’s NY. The surrounding fields lay atop the drumlins created by the glaciers of years past. They have been used to produce hay in previous years and, more recently some of them are leased out and soy beans are grown. The flower gardens are expanding in variety and space. New additions find their way here yearly.
Tracy’s goal? Is to share the knowledge learned through teaching, and encourage others to share their love of plants as well. It’s what most flower farmers have in common. Supporting each other. Reaching out. Engaging in the surrounding communities, and the people in them with generosity, creativity, and a helping hand. That is why she has decided to offer Consulting, Garden Coaching and Maintenance to her services.
